Christmas in Florence
Christmas in Florence brings joy to the eyes and the heart. The city is decorated to celebrate the most magical day of the year with lights, markets, and numerous events that give Florence a special Christmas atmosphere.
The shopping streets of Ponte Vecchio and Oltrarno (where Convitto delle Calza is located) are already illuminated with traditional lights, and the Christmas Market in Piazza Santa Croce has just been opened, where more than 50 stands will offer artisanal crafts and local specialties until December 22.
Save the date for the market in Oltrarno, a stone's throw from us, where the traditional Christmas event takes over Campo di Marte on 8 December, from 8 am to 8 pm. The streets and squares between Porta Romana, Piazza Santo Spirito, and the Lungarno will host more than 200 stalls dedicated to Christmas shopping in Florence. Another important Christmas market is the Fierucola dell’Immacolata in Piazza Santissima Annunziata on 7 and 8 December: an artisanal fair that showcases Florentine and Tuscan craftsmanship with stalls selling crafts, food, and wine, perfect authentic Christmas gifts from Florence.
The Christmas trees throughout the historic city center will be lit on 8 December, and the spectacular "F-Light" festival of lights will be inaugurated with magical video mapping illuminating the Ponte Vecchio and other monuments across Florence (until 6 January 2020).
We’ll be waiting for you at the Christmas markets in Florence!
